The city is changing rapidly. Helsinki’s growth and climate change are posing the greatest challenges to biodiversity, and changes are inevitable. However, the impacts of changes can be kept within reasonable boundaries in a systematic manner in order to secure biodiversity and a healthy living environment. Saving Nature for People is Finland’s national action plan for mainstreaming the conservation and sustainable use of biodiversity – in other words, taking it into consideration in administration and society at large.
