STATISTICS show that 70 per cent of women who move to Finland do so for family reasons. This means they don’t have many contacts when they arrive in the country. Women to Work is a municipal project offering targeted career guidance in Russian, Somali, Arabic and easy-to-understand Finnish.
Women learn digital and social media skills and find their footing in the job market or a field of education.
“Helsinki has founded several projects and campaigns to strengthen international women’s agency, but there’s still a lot of work to be done,” City of Helsinki Service Supervisor Heidi Lehtovaara says.
