The City of Helsinki  has launched a new English-language website called welcome.helsinki, with practical advice for newcomers to the area. Among other things, the site has several handy checklists to assist people with relocation.

The website provides key information on living and working in Helsinki. It describes municipal healthcare and social services, so visitors to the site become aware of all of the different kinds support that are available.

In addition, the Finnish education system is explained in a way that everyone can understand, with specific information on Helsinki’s many daycare and schooling options.

The new website was designed expressly for Helsinki’s international community. Even people who have been in Helsinki for several years may find the information it contains helpful.
